The Freedom Blue Medicare Advantage Plan
Medicare Advantage, previously known as Medicare Part C or Medicare Choice, provides Medicare beneficiaries with the freedom to choose a private insurance provider for their benefits. Anthem Blue Cross offers a number of Advantage options, including the Freedom Blue plan. This plan is available in three divisions – Freedom Blue Classic offers the standard Medicare substitute, without prescription drug cover. Freedom Blue Plus can be obtained for around thirty dollars a month, and includes prescription cover and greater chiropractic benefits.
Freedom Blue Classic – Features and Eligibility
The basic features of the Freedom Blue Classic plan include $15 co-pay for visits to a regular physician, and $35 for a specialist. The plan has a low annual deductible of $500, and there is a deductible of $850 for each hospital stay. In order to be eligible for a Freedom Blue plan, you need to have Medicare Parts A and B. You also need to be over the age of sixty-five, or currently disabled.
