California Medicare Supplement Plans
Many seniors in California are provided with basic medical insurance via Medicare, but many have medical needs which exceed the cover provided by Medicare Parts A and B. In California, Medicare supplement plans offered by major insurance groups such as Anthem Blue Cross provide seniors with a means to lower their health expenses considerably. A supplement plan can be obtained at a manageable premium, and there are many different plans available which focus on increased cover in different areas.
California Medicare Advantage Policies
In addition to Medicare supplement plans there are also Medicare Advantage policies which provide members with the freedom to choose benefit packages from private insurance providers to replace the standard Medicare Part C benefit package. This can be a helpful way to cover additional needs. While some Medicare Advantage plans are available at no extra cost as they provide similar cover to standard Medicare packages, some plans have a low set premium in exchange for additional cover.
