When you have spent you entire working life employed by a company that provided you with full healthcare insurance, even if you had to pay a portion of the monthly premium, you were used to being able to see a doctor and get the medical care you needed. In most cases you had to pay a deductible but no more. Unless you have Blue Cross Medicare gap insurance when you retire, chances are you are not going to be able to afford this level of care.
Medicare is not, nor was it ever intended to be, full coverage insurance. What you are going to find is that if you still want to be able to maintain the same level of medical care you have had all of your working life, you are going to need to look into the various Blue Cross Medicare gap policies to see which ones are going to give you the coverage you need.
